Granville Veterinary Clinic Staff
Douglas T. Wagner, D.V.M.
After graduating from The Ohio State University in 1984, Dr. Wagner’s first veterinary position was in a mixed animal practice in Dover, Ohio. Venturing out on his own in 1987, Dr. Wagner opened the Granville Veterinary Clinic and quickly earned the trust and respect of the Granville residents and surrounding areas.
He and his wife, Becky, have 3 children; the two eldest are currently in college, with their youngest in the 8th grade. Supporting and attending their children’s activities is a priority in the Wagner home and they love to travel and vacation as a family whenever possible. Dr. Wagner and Becky also share their home with 4 dogs and a cat.
Dr. Wagner is active in the Granville Rotary and the Granville Township Open Space program, and a long-time member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. You will also find his wife Becky next door to the Clinic on most days running their shared business, The
Village Pet Market.
Justin I. Kirchhofer, V.M.D.
Dr. Kirchhofer is most often referred to as “Dr. K” among clients and colleagues. He promptly began working with Dr. Wagner in 1999 after graduating from The University of Pennsylvania that same year.
Dr. Kirchhofer and wife Cassie have 2 sons and a daughter. Cassie is also a Registered Nurse, so they enjoy any available spare time at home with their family. In addition to their human children, the Kirchhofers have 2 miniature Dachshunds, and 9 or more cats at any given time; all of them being adopted rescues.
You can usually find Dr. Kirchhofer on a soccer field whenever his time permits. He is an active coach for Granville Recreation and also enjoys playing soccer himself as much as possible.
Joanna Reen, D.V.M.
Dr. Reen was welcomed to our veterinarian staff in June, 2008 and is a graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Reen and husband, Mark, have two daughters, ages 10 and 13, and one son, 9 years old. Mark enjoys working from their home as a Computer Technology specialist.
The Reen family recently moved into a renovated farm house in Heath to be closer to our Clinic. Their animal population includes 2 dogs, Jake and Porkchop, Barney the Orange-Winged Amazon Parrot, Clarence, the rat and Oscar the cat, along with a few extra cats that were purchased “with the house”.
When time permits between her children’s activities and work, Dr. Reen likes to relax by scrapbooking or riding horses.
Joanne is our Surgery Technician and has been with our clinic for over 10 years. When at home, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jerry, and their pony, 2 horses, 6 dogs, 6 cats and a rabbit.
Joanne has adopted 2/3 of her animals since she started working here!
Sherry has been with us for 5 years. She and husband, Josh, have one son.
Sherry has been a dog-lover her entire life, and started working with them in 1997 when she took her first kennel position. They enjoy 3 of their own dogs at home.
Gretchen is our newest staff member with a lifetime love of animals. She currently volunteers at Second Chance Humane Society in her spare time.
Dana started her career with us as a groomer in 2005. In 2007, she trained to become a Technician in order to work more closely with the animals. Dana & boyfriend Brian share their home with a 2 ferrets, 3 cats, a Chocolate Lab, an American Bulldog, and her youngest daughter, Jessi.
Nita has been an integral part of our Clinic for 10 over years. Starting as Receptionist, she soon took over the role of Office Manager and has the challenging, and sometimes rewarding, job of keeping the entire Clinic running smoothly— from ordering all the medications and food to helping the Receptionists, Technicians and Doctors whenever needed.
Nita has shown and judged rabbits almost all her life, specializing in the Rex variety; thereby giving her the extra task of becoming our resident bunny expert.
In addition to her 5 pet rabbits at home, Nita enjoys time with Shiloh, her Rocky Mountain horse, 7 rescued cats and a spoiled rotten Doberman Pinscher named Mercury that can routinely be found at the clinic greeting our customers.
Lisa started her career with us in 1998. She has many favorite animal clients, but Lisa’s heart belongs to her 2 cats and miniature long-haired Dachshunds, “Beanie Wells” and Annie.
Lisa’s husband, Chris, and son, Tony, are also favorites in her life. Lisa enjoys spending her summers at their second “home” on Seneca Lake.
Jan has been with our Clinic for 3 years. She and husband Chuck, have 2 sons, Isaac and Christian; both of whom are currently attending college. They also have 2 Quarter Horses, 1 pony, 6 dogs and 14 cats to keep them busy when they’re not attending craft shows. Be sure to look for Jan at the Granville Farmers Market!
Laura has been our part-time receptionist since 2006. Laura’s husband, Brian, reluctantly supports her animal addiction, which includes 5 horses, a black angus heifer, a rescued dog, 10 spoiled cats, a duck, a rabbit, and a hamster; in addition to their 10-yr. old son!
Shele is a part-time receptionist with over 8 years at our Clinic. When not working, she spends her days caring for the numerous rescued dogs and cats she has collected through the years. Shele also helps her Mom raise and train Quarter Horses, some of whom reside at her home. Shele is the proud mom of 2 daughters, Tara & Tisha.
