Bryan J. Melvin

Dr. Bryan J. Melvin grew up in Aiken, South Carolina, and then attended Anderson University in Anderson, SC, where he played 3 years of collegiate baseball as a right-handed relief pitcher.

He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Biomedical Sciences. He then attended the University of Georgia to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, serving as president of his veterinary class and graduating magna cum laude. He earned a certificate of merit for excellence in small animal medicine and surgery and an award for clinical excellence in veterinary oncology.

After completing his veterinary degree, Dr. Melvin moved to the Columbus, OH, area to pursue a PhD at The Ohio State University in Comparative Biomedical Sciences, focusing on the role of epigenetic regulation in the development and early diagnosis of canine and human urothelial carcinoma.

Dr. Melvin enjoys creating lasting relationships with his patients and their families, fostering the human-animal bond, managing complex medical diseases, veterinary oncology, and providing end-of-life care, and he looks forward to serving the clients and patients at Granville Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Melvin lives in Dublin, OH, with his two Labrador Retrievers, Dallas and Denver. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, Georgia Bulldogs, and Atlanta Braves.
